Stratos Sketches Masters of the Universe

Hello Family and Friends …..posting today more Masters of the Universe character/creature concepts of beloved character of mine one of my favorites do to his name Stratos that in Greek translates to Warrior -soldier….this was under the direction and vision from Directors @Adamnee and @aaronnee …..Adam and Aaron were gracious to put me in a lead position with creatures and characters and I had a small team that joined me with great artists and friends jsmarantz and Luca Nemolato…I worked very closely with Adam and Aaron early on developing Stratos as they both had a great take on him and where he came from…they wanted him to start out young and mature into the warrior.Stratos technology was@kore advanced and his design and motif needed to reflect that so we designed a mechanical repetitive feather like pattern into his suit to allow him to b string and very fast and agile ….his strength was speed and being stealthy .Adam and Aaron always liked for us to start with rough sketches to capture the character and also color palette so at a squint u see the graphic design from the cartoon …then once something was chosen we would develop it further in 3d to turn it around and workout the design further .we needed to see first what his is design organically under the suit and then build on that…another challenge was his wing arms …how do they work …?….is it organic or more mechanical and we found something that was a balance of both but still retaining his original cartoon essence ..after this was established Jerad and Luca did some rough ideas for other pushed characters that r more creature bird looks ….this was a dream job as im a big fan of the cartoon and to b apart of this was a blast …..we also worked closely with costume designer Ann Harding Foley and her team on details ,patterns ect as well as Weta and there brilliant team of artists and specialist….with that said im happy to see the film doing really well streaming and loved watching it in the theatres …..Travis knight did a great job and everyone involved much love and respect …..more to come humbly thank u
